⚡ WIP

What I'm building

Node-RED signal generator (NMEA/Modbus)

Work-in-progress

Flow that generates NMEA, Modbus RTU/TCP, RS232/422/485 signals for commissioning and student practice. Being built into a 10" rack: DWGs laser-cut, 3D models printed, aiming for a portable commissioning unit with network devices, serial devices and manual input switches with physical LED outputs controlled by TCP and physical control.

  • Good for students and young professionals to learn on.
  • Will publish once stable; currently in lab testing.
  • Planned add-ons: profile presets, logging and export. Custom design for teaching, learning and commissioning; built for my own sensor/device testing and proving educational for students/graduates.

WIP

Home lab server upgrade

Personal/professional lab refresh: Fractal Define 7 XL with TBs of space running Gitea, Docker, n8n, Home Assistant, Ghost, Heimdall, Paperless, Dolibarr, AdGuard DNS, Ubuntu/Debian LXCs, OnlyOffice, Node-RED, Uptime Kuma and more.

Hardware plan: NVMe RAID 1 for base OS, SSDs for VMs/LXCs/templates, HDDs for non-critical temp DBs and storage.
Used to test commissioning techniques, sensors and devices as a personal hobby related to my day job. I’ll publish useful n8n workflows and scripts to GitHub as they mature.
